There are many ways for you to get involved and support our work

There are many ways which you can support our work, and not all involve direct financial donations. Read this section to find out how you can get involved…

Donate Resources

Donate to a Specific Project

Our teaching resources and extra-curricular activities programmes are dependent on donations of new and used resources. Do you have a cupboard full of old football boots? Could you school donate reading books? Is your company renewing its IT equipment? All of these materials would be extremely beneficial to the communities we work with, and through our policy of transporting donations to Ghana overland on our adventure expeditions, we are able to deliver your donations at minimal cost.

We have developed a unique database of projected, current and completed projects which gives you the freedom to choose where and how your donation is spent. “Support Our Project” puts you in control of your donation, and is open to applications from partner organisations which are stringently vetted by the Sabre Trust to ensure that they comply with our own criteria for sustainable development.

Donate your Time

Sponsor a Student

By volunteering on one of our project placements you are not only donating your time, but also 40% percent of your placement fee is a direct contribution to the projects we support in Ghana.
The Sabre Trust has developed a Student Sponsorship Scheme to offer academically and practically minded JSS3 school leavers the opportunity to enter further education, either to gain ‘A' level qualifications or Vocational Skill Diplomas in engineering, car mechanics, construction, tailoring or teacher training. This programme is deliberately focussed on post 16 students who show great promise and potential but lack the money to access further education. Without the support of a sponsorship programme many students do not realise their potential and are forced to drift into unskilled work or simply care for younger siblings.

Our Sponsorship Scheme is also open to young adults, who have typically left school at 16 and found the first job they could, but in fact had always yearned to train to be a nurse, a teacher, or had set their hearts on gaining a university degree in pharmacy, engineering or bio-chemistry, but had no financial means to do so. Our scheme is therefore open to village adults under 30 who want help to access the careers of their choice.

This scheme is valuable for many reasons. It promotes talent, effort, personal development and ultimately can bring highly skilled people back to their communities as role models to inspire future generations.

If you would like to sponsor a student please contact us by e-mail, indicating whether you would like to pay a regular monthly amount or donate a lump sum to pay for a specific student's tuition fees. For post 16 students tuition fees are just the beginning, they also have to fund accommodation, transport and maintenance allowances as the courses are in the main towns, a long way from their small villages. Once we know your situation – and please, any amount is welcome – we will match it to a waiting student.
