Art & Crafts Placement

One of the biggest areas volunteers have enjoyed getting involved with is arts and crafts. It’s something that is rarely introduced by the Ghanaian teachers due to lack of materials, inspiration and experience. There have been some fantastic art projects introducing children to new ways of learning and thinking as well as lessons packed full of fun and pictures to take home to show the family. Examples are boat collages, mask making, hat making, a tree made of cut outs of the children’s hands, finger puppets, wind chimes and pictures of people, animals, shapes and beach and farm scenes made of everything from glitter and sand to buttons and leaves.
