Interns are a key part of Sabre's team in Ghana. The charity's work here is based on skill sharing and capacity building, and by mobilising experienced or skilled volunteers through our intern programme, we can train and develop our local staff. Below is a list of the skill sets we are seeking.
Our project work is child-centred and community based, in designing and delivering our programmes, we strive to remain at the forefront of good practice in the education and community development sectors. Within the core of what we do we require experienced and qualified teachers or trainers to help facilitate our Teacher Training programme. Working alongside the our in-country partners the role will be one of active participation and coordination. The philosophy is learning through play combined with phonics and strives to engage and stimulate the teachers so they can inturn do the same to the children. email us.
As part of our Creating Resources programme we provide schools with chairs, desks, toys and specific learning resources. All these need to be designed and produced locally. We run a variety of projects within each programme area. Project Management interns are involved in monitoring and evaluation work, ensuring the achievement of educational and social outcomes, with projects delivered to time, budget and quality. For more information please email us.
Through our partnership with construction firm Arup, we require the services of engineers in the field. Civil, Structural, Services and Mechanical engineers are all needed. Cost management for our kindergarten construction projects comes through our partnership with Davis Langdon. For these projects to succeed cost control is an absolute key. We work in an environment where prices can change on a monthly basis and being able to accurately measure and forecast expenditure is vital. For more information please email us.
This role supports our finance department in the development and management of financial and accounting procedures. Reviewing and improving procedures for procurement, petty cash, fundraising and account management is central to this role. For more information please email us.
We have various systems in place that communicate and promote our projects and activities. Much of this takes place online through social media channels. This role maintains and develops these communications channels documenting and presenting our activities for different audiences. For more information please email us.
In this area we have two requirements; firstly to support our office systems and website, and secondly to support and maintain a mobile computer lab, our Techno Truck. This mobile facility enables school children the opportunity not only to gain ICT skills, but also to share projects with school students in other countries through our school partnership programme.
