Sport - For the Love of the Game
|

| It is widely recognised that sport has the ability to bring children who would otherwise abscond from school back into the learning environment. Sabre Trust's, “for the love of the game” programme is working with the KEEA District Education Office to harness the power of sport to improve district wide school enrolment and attendance at the primary and junior secondary levels. |

| The model that we follow in implementing this programme is simple but effective: coaches training is provided to sports and PE teachers in specific sports; donations of sports equipment and kit is provided to create an enabling environment in schools; a coach's manual is produced to guide and structure sports sessions; volunteer assistant coaches are placed in schools to support and encourage the staff and pupils, and a district wide competition is established to provide a platform for pupils to put their skills into practise. |

Additionally, through our Sponsor a Student programme, sports bursaries are provided for the most talented and promising young sportsmen and women.
