Learning Materials Development
| In recognition of the fact that children’s learning can be massively enhanced with appropriate and exciting classroom materials, the Sabre Trust has used donation campaigns in the UK to collect books and toys for the schools we work with in Ghana. |
| These donated learning materials are generally driven down to Ghana by one of our charity overland expeditions and
on their arrival at the recipient school, volunteers are on hand to sort and share out the donations. In some cases we have collected enough resources
to create an entire school library from scratch! |
| |
| For many of the children attending school, class time is the only opportunity they get to play with proper toys that have been designed to stimulate early-learning development – this interaction and stimulation is particularly important for the kindergarten pupils. |
| |
| The donated books provide an opportunity for the older children |
| to practise their reading, often in one-to-one sessions with volunteer classroom assistants, the fabulous stories they contain help to fuel the children’s imaginations and develop an enthusiasm for reading. |
