What's Involved
|
|
| The expedition process generally takes 12-14 months. This allows time to fundraise, plan the expedition and make preparations in- country. Generally the expeditions are made up of different phases depending on the project choosen. If a UK school simply wants to support a particular project or is interested in a partnership the same planning and preparation steps are taken. The process is outlined below: |
|
|
|
|
In the UK
- Project selected with the school
- Presentation made to students to recruit expedition volunteers
- Fundraising plans made
- Project realisation planning meetings
- Project expedition preparation/training weekend
- Final departure briefing
|
|
| |
Once in-country
- Collection from airport and transfer to central base
- Induction to community and project - meeting the incountry support team
- Action roles and responsibilties of expedition volunteers
- Commence project work
- Cultural / sightseeing visits at weekends
- Expedition de-brief
Back in the UK
- Presentation of expedition achievements to funders and school
- Receipt of updates from project community
- School to consider partnership
We are committed to supporting communities for as long as they need. We believe that a school partnership can help enormously in this goal. For more information about partnerships, please have a look at the Global Partnerships section of this website or email us at: partnerships@sabretrust.org. |
