Applying & the Process
|
|
| The application is very easy. All that is required is for you to complete a form, send it to us and see whether you have been accepted. Find out what's involved and how to apply from the information below. |
|
|
-
Filling in the Application Form
- All you have to do is fill in our simple application form
- This is your first chance to tell us about yourself and why you should be considered for an expedition
- Places are limited and offered on a first come first served basis so make sure you apply early, this also allows you plenty of time to start fundraising
|
|
- Raising the expedition fee is the first step of the challenge
- Your expedition should not cost you a penny if you decide to fundraise
- We will also offer you lots of help at the first meeting and you will also be given a booklet that contains lots of tried and tested ideas that have helped people in the past reach their targets
- It takes careful planning and determination but it is perfectly possible and extremely worthwhile
- Using the internet you can be kept up to date with what is happening at the project site
- We will also arrange visits to come and meet the expedition team
- Lots of background country research will be expected of you, but we'll be available to assist
- This is when the real excitement begins and the expedition becomes a reality
- The primary function of this course is to prepare you as best as possible for your time away
- You will learn more about the environment and cultural
- Probably most importantly we will discuss how you are going to contribute effectively to the project
- The day before the expedition departs the team get together for one last briefing session
- Physical risk assessment for expedition volunteers
- You will return home with incredible memories and you will also have impacted on the lives of the communities you have visited
- The work of the Sabre Charitable Trust focuses on sustaining that impact
- We will invite you to actively support the projects through the Sabre Charitable Trust
As a small organisation there will be plenty of chances for expedition teams to maintain regular contact. You will receive updates on the project work via the newsletters and will be encouraged to support the charity in whatever way you can!
