Expedition Environment
| The nature of these expeditions is all about cultural learning. As a member
of staff on the expedition your main role is for pastoral care of the students. Our Project Managers and Expedition
Leaders are responsible for the safe and effective management of the project. |
| There are huge benefits to having you on the expedition from the communities point of view - you are a western trained
teacher. As such you will have plenty of opportunity to share your expertise with and to learn from the local teachers.
This in itself can be thoroughly rewarding and will be planned well in advance should you wish to get invovled in this
way. |

The expedition is based in a community. The expedition volunteers and staff will all be living in housed or tented
accommodation (depending on what is decided during the planning stages and what is available in the community). Cooking
and washing will all be done in the camp, food shopping will be done in the local markets and the volunteers will
manage all this themselves with the support of the project manager and community liaision staff.
The full process is outlined here and more
information can be requested at a meeting, by email or over the phone. |
