The Schools for Schools Programme

Aim

To improve cultural, technological and environmental awareness between UK and developing world schools.

Objectives

By breaking down what we mean about
  • Create partnerships with kindergarten, primary and secondary schools in the UK and Southern school
  • Provide introductory talks to all year groups in the UK and southern school
  • Provide learning resources, materials and lesson templates that fit into the academic curriculum for schools
  • Initiate joint projects termly or annually within subjects and year groups
  • Monitor, review and develop the outcomes of curriculum based projects
  • Provide opportunities for groups of students to take part in exchange visits
  • Engage the wider communities of both schools

Methodolgy

All communication between schools will be facilitated over the internet using state of the art technology that is already used in many UK schools. In the subsequent pages we will outline how each of the objectives will be achieved. It should be noted that different age groups of schools will fit different types of partnerships, what a child learns in kindergarten will be developed upon in Primary and that in turn will be developed upon in Secondary school. This provides a complete package to a group of schools (kindergarten, primary and secondary) in the same area so that at every stage of a child’s education they have the opportunity to learn something new about Ghana. This implies that the programme has a 14 year cycle.

The following provides a brief overview of the opportunities in place that go to facilitate the programme: The following provides a brief overview of the structures in place that go to support the programme:
  • UK staff
  • Southern country staff
  • UK Volunteers
  • International Volunteers
