The art experience aims to expose students to new cultural art forms, textures, materials and
techniques. A local artist or group of crafts people will demonstrate their art form, taking questions from the
students so that they can fully appreciate their techniques. After a demonstration, students will be able to
participate in individual and group work around the art medium, producing their own work and project displays.
Working with Ghanaian artists in their homeland will provide a rich cultural experience and develop greater
understanding of the history, symbolism, heritage and voice of the people expressed through their many, intricate
and dedicated art forms. It will be a fascinating, creative and colourful journey – a true kaleidoscope of alternative
art masterclasses – passionately expressed by talented instructors.
