Groups of Schools
|
|
|
Partnerships are established between groups of associated schools in both countries, preferably crossing any frontiers related to age, ability and gender.
Main benefits:
- These links can prove to be the most productive and enable children from pre-school to secondary school and beyond to address themes of local relevance, for example multicultural issues
- Resources, ideas and schemes of work can be shared, thereby strengthening the partnerships locally and ensuring the benefits of visits and partnership activities are applied on a wider scale
- The workload and the benefits are shared and the partnership made more robust
- An element of continuity is built in, in both social and curriculum terms.
Issues to consider:
- Planning and communication become more complex
- The common purpose and shared learning may come from a thematic focus, e.g. the environment or a shared characteristic.
Using the post to exchange letters between pupils or teachers, or between whole
classes or schools.
